How Counselling Can Help
What is counselling?
Counselling, sometimes called talking therapy, offers a safe and confidential space to explore what’s happening in your life. It’s a time just for you, to speak freely and be heard without judgment.
People come to counselling for many reasons, whether it’s past experiences, current challenges, or a general feeling of being stuck or overwhelmed. My role is to listen and work alongside you as you make sense of things, develop new ways of coping, and begin to create positive change.
Counselling isn’t about giving advice or finding quick fixes. It’s about understanding yourself more deeply and finding your own way forward. Over time, it can bring greater clarity, confidence and balance in both how you feel and relate to others.
Fees & Healthcare Providers
Sessions are typically £70 for 50 minutes, payable by bank transfer or in cash before the session. I also reserve a small number of lower-cost spaces depending on circumstances — we can talk about this in our initial conversation.
I’m also recognised by Aviva, AXA and VitalityHealth insurance providers.
What are the first steps in to counselling
Initially, we may arrange a free 15 minute telephone or video call consultation, followed by a 50 minute initial session. This gives us a chance to talk through what has brought you to seek out counselling, and see whether working together feels right for you. There’s no obligation to continue, as I want to ensure clients find the right therapist for them.
If we decide to go ahead, sessions take place weekly, usually at the same time and day (unless arranged otherwise), lasting 50 minutes. Some clients come for a short period, usually 6–12 sessions, while others choose to continue longer term to explore more complex issues.
Where I work
I am currently offering remote sessions only either via video call or telephone. I aim to offer more face-to-face/in-person sessions from my practice based in London Bridge/ Borough High Street (SE1 1LL) in early 2026.
Confidentiality
Everything we discuss is private and confidential, unless I believe you or someone else is at risk of harm. In that case, I would always talk with you before taking any action.
Getting in touch
If you’d like to know more or arrange an initial session, please get in touch by email, text or phone. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about counselling and how it could help.
